We really are lucky

I had a question asked whilest I was down an the honky tonk grabbing a brew. The question was about the radio gig, the inquiry was why is WyldAyre and HazzardAyre better off than so many others like it or radio stations all over have a battle, yet we expand and improve at warp speed.

Whilest we might not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, still both programs of ours here are kicking butt because everybody involved is firmly dedicated to it. This is why all new people wanting on board are put through a rigorous internship of 6 months without one dime being paid. Thing is if the pass the prospect period, those wages are included in their paychecks later. But that’s another subject.

Many involved in what is formally called the Confederate Star/Southern Steele Radio Network, have been here all 35 years I have been. Many region pioneers and experts are on the board. Some legendary radio people from Wooly Waldron formally of KCPX AM1320, to Country Joe of KSOP FM are on the board of the network and advisors to both HazzardAyre/WyldAyre Radio.

Other reasons go from that we are really pioneers in our own right, fully independent from any network or corporate entity except our own. Our tower and antenna was put in place in 1976, the only full 1,000 foot broadcast tower in Idaho. That antenna now has two siblings with it a 500 footer for the AM and another 500 footer for the upcoming TV station to be engaged in 2016.

Other reasons we have prospered is that we don’t have a bunch of stock holders, or outsiders telling what we can or can’t air. If I hear an artist I think has the IT factor like Emma Leigh, I’ll put it on, Even though the local LDS bunch might not cotton to it. We don’t care. Our station is and has always been geared to and of the fight the system, fight the majority and play music and do radio the way the people want it. We do ours southern fried, confederate, Hazzard County style. And that’s the answer. Now then, as much as I’d like to write , I need vittles, a shower and some zz’s so I can be on air overnight, see all then.

Okay alrighty then one last item. Had a question on our early morning edition, about whether or not , do I think, Emma will infact come out for our DukesFest? Can’t answer, as haven’t got confirmation from her manager, yet but I’m truly praying she will.

What a long day, and it was to be my day off

It’s Wednesday. Wednesday’s are supposed to be my day off to relax, sleep, and recuperate. However for nearly 35 years I have yet to have a full day off from the club. Or what is now HazzardAyre/WyldAyre Radio and TV.

There’s always something that comes up that needs my attention, that the none educated or inexperienced of media things here in the club can’t do. So I get in my little truck , drive 15 miles , get at a project, that can last 3 hours to well over two days. Then come home, but wait my day is not done. There’s also being on call 24/7/365 for my own heavy truck toewing service, as well as for A1.

During the summer, its fly early mornings to afternoon, ridding fields of pests, enhancing crops life and keeping farmers happy. If I get time after that its, trick out a bike or truck, then climb in the studio, overnight doing LIVE over the air radio for every southern fried gear head, long hauler, and Dukes-of-Hazzard Fan.

Of course taking care of the requests of 175,000 members of the Knytes, 54,000 members of the AyreWolvez.

Day off? When?

I have yet to take a full vacation without it being work or club related. Even then its when the budget allows, or we can plug someone in the studio to do my shows.

The last time I blew Idaho, and went on an outing was to Las Vegas in 1989, to the SEMA show.

I have went to NAB every other year, but that’s work related. Would have went this year, except I didn’t have some arm candy to go to  be a liaison to attend dinners lectures, etc with. Or to hot foot it around to various vendors to fetch information or arrange meetings. Plus with getting HazzardAyre about to go into the sky, on its own channel on XM/Sirius, who had time. Okay then I got a jingle from a former applicant about the fact that I have a mini studio at home and that might be one of our problems.

The reason the studio is here in my house is that up to this point there was not a need to put it elsewhere. At night when I’m live, its just as easy to put on my shorts, and do the show. Between Internet and Studio Transmitter Link, STL, to Buhl, its as easy for me to do it here at home, but its no where kinky. Just convenient.

Years ago, radio stations had to be in big buildings, bigger studios. Equipment was full of tubes, the transmitter was the size of a stand up freezer and again vacuum tubes the size of large zucchinis. Today equipment is near plug & play, is mini in size, transmitters are two rack size and a studio can be in a bedroom, or even a kitchen. With smartphones and all a personality can send in music from the internet. A show can also be on air even visually through an Internet stream, sure there’s no snuggling via me caressing some gals peds. But hey that’s a comedy bit. Every day programs can be done from two places yet seem to be in the same place and You think its all here, and local. I have a gal that lives in Salt Lake City, she calls in 30 minutes prior to air, gets on line, I get my camera on, and she looks at me while I look at her. We do two hours of radio.

If I want to be less formal, I get in my gym shorts, get my coffee , my skoal, and we are on air together. If truth be known I can even do the show buck ass’d naked and YOU would never know it.

That said, even with the new studio about to get revamped and new gear put in, I’ll do my afternoon show there, but my overnight show unless there’s a reason, I’ll still do the show from my bedroom , via STL from Twin Falls, to Buhl, the over the air, Internet etc to you. But I don’t need to be there.

We now have two people to go in, push buttons in Buhl to do the physical work , so unless I really need to be , I ain’t there.

Of course we are still looking for over the air in studio jocks or personalities as its PC to say these days. Like Emma says in one of her songs, some things are too PC, just play that song. And we do .

I’m still pissd at a bunch of area women, who thought rolling into the Wolf’s Den to be on radio or at least Intern here was a spooky gig, is just well piss’s me off.

I am a devout southern bred confederate Christian. I read my bible at least three times daily, I preach in a church, just what part of something being spooky here is there? For damn sake people get over your paranoia.

We all know the Bible is Gods word that I fully believe, but why did it just stop at Revelations? There surly was many more chapters and much more that could have been written. So why wasn’t there? How about that mysterious 3rd Timothy? How about the wife before Eve that God gave Adam? How about a chapter of what happened during the youth and teen years of Jesus? About expanding that thing on the Asher Pole?

Is there more out there? If it was written would Christians read it?

Phooey on TOS, we need real cyber cops and enforcement of law

Here’s an idea, a fuzz force for the web. Or call it traffic and rules enforcement for the cyber skyway?

I’d even settle for truth in advertising. Both online and dang well TV. All of these products and cons for $19.99 , why not say $20.00 plus another $10.00 to ship and do the paper work? Be honest.

It’s like on both Yahoo and Facebook. One gets those offers in the banner on the side for you to be able to meet thousands of singles free. Bulls breath , ya’ll ain't meeting nobody, unless you dig out your credit card or pony up money for a $100.00 to join their service. Why not say, you need to sign up for their service and pay money up front, b4 you meet someone.

My advisors here in the club, always accuse me of getting the milking machine b4 the cow. I’ll focus on the cream rather than the milk, rather what needs done first. Hey licking the icing spoon is always preferable to stirring the flour and cake mix. But both need be done to make the cake.

Booking talent for DukesFest West is one thing, going out to the fairgrounds in the cold is another. Marking off display and vendor areas, cleaning the bleachers, rounding up the food, but hey doing auditions for the photo talent for the ads for DukesFest, or calling Jeff to get Emma here for a concert, well I’d rather delegate that to another. But alas I need to do it.

That all being said, how about a highway patrol for the web? Let’s stop these con artists from imposing on us, products and services that are just barely legal, if legal at all on us. That way if you do click on something, the it or offer IS what it IS, rather than a front for something much worse or expensive.

There just ought to be

Now this much may seem like too much TMI or something, but I’m writing this while my lady friend is having a smoke.

First this don’t happen often, but I got lucky over the last two hours. However I guess Harley is just a bit too large, for her. So we used some KY Liquid. So as she smokes I went for a chew. Thing is as slick(pun intended) as KY is, it tastes like crap, yuck.

Two situations are directly included here. First during, cuninlingus , is shortened as you feel your licking the outside of an oil can. Second the after, is when going for a dip, your fingers are now coated and your tasting an oil filter. Yuck.

With KY being the company it is, could they please make a berry flavored version? At least it’d taste better and smell better. I know invent an organic version.

Some things are finger licking good, except after using KY Liquid.

No Miracle at least for me , but

So went to coffee with Ellie May, the big news, she’s having a pup? Yep a mini pup. (She’s PG) , so then the bomb dropped , the bomb. She got divorced from the Aussie, and hooked up with another dude. Funny, wasn’t I supposed to be second in line? Oh well I’m happy for her. Disappointed yes, but still I love her enough to let her be with who she wants. But engaged ain’t hitched, and things can be detoured and rerouted.

Okay. still reeling over the response to Emma Leigh. It’s funny this door opened here when it did. Annette Funicello passed away , this past Monday. Annette had several great songs to her talents. She started very young and became a super star. I see Emma being in that company.

Emma’s vocal range and sense to detail, to hit every note right on, is unimaginable for someone her age.

When most teens are doing bang your head rap, and all, Emma is truly singing. I remember when I caught Kelly Packer of Idaho Falls once at a battle of the bands in Blackfoot, once. She’s a star rising, but Emma is far away from Kelly. Emma is in fact light years ahead.

Emma can truly sing, her stuff as well as cover tunes.

Now some of ya’ll might think that this old Wolf is having a fantasy over a 16 year old girl. Not so, although I’d be entitled. Naw that’s not it.

I love music, from all places, gospel, rock, kountry. My favorite music of course is southern blue grass and southern rock. However I’m always open to new things from all genere’s .

When I caught Emma, on Virginia Dreams CenterStage (RFDTV) I thought this gal has got that IT , and WOW factor. Cute as the dickens, but more than another Taylor Swift, or Carrie Underwood wannabe. Emma is her own person and tops just about if not all contemporary female artist I have heard in years, and with 35 plus years in radio I know something about music trends. Sometimes ya’ll just know what you hear is the real gig, or just someone lip syncing.

Put new guy wires on the old tower this morning my it was windy out on that desert. Cold too. I bet it wasn’t over 30 out there. Electricians are working on the junction box at the Buhl studio.

Things are moving.

Ellie May is considering jumping back in the mix here full time, and my could I use a good PA here. I have pitched that to several people, especially, female , but no takers. Everyone wants a upfront or consistent pay check. Now I dig that we all have bills to pay, mortgages, car payments(cept me I own mine outright) and all the others. I know people need to make a living. So I’m cool with it. But doing part time work to add fuel to our fire here is a real step up for many, and a grand slam for the community , even if that community has no idea its good for them. Kinda like feeding kids their veggies. But we are not as bad as Brussels Sprouts, nor Broccoli, even cauliflower. We’re more in the Okra, green bean category. But ya’ll know what in the end we’re good for a Yankee Union in the west, that needs, REALLY needs, southern intelligence, and kids in school history class’ that need lessons on what the great war was all about, and learn that Abe Lincoln was a liar and cheat. That the real victory should have went to President Jefferson(Jefferson Davis) and Gen, Lee not surrendered. Imagine seeing all three flags flying over a courthouse or Government building. Imagine the southern liberty oozing out over our land. As well as Southern love of Jesus Christ flooding over these parched western deserts. That’s what we stand for, and what we give you on both HazzardAyre and here on WyldAyre Radio, and coming in the spring of 2015, HazzardAyre/WyldAyre TV.

So, no miracle for me with Ellie May,(oh I did get my hug) but who knows what the future holds there.

New Horizons for the Wolvez

B4 I get it on here, I want to let you out there members and fans of our aviation show know, I have really got the wind under my wings with a talent I just barely saw a few times on RFDTV. There’s this show called Virginia Dreams Center Stage. Sponsored and created by a Ford dealership, which I’ll never buy a Ford truck since Ford does not offer a clutch stick shift transmission any more, but that’s a subject for another time.

But there’s this sweetheart, by the name of Emma Leigh on there that can belt out tunes that rival if not exceeding any female singer I have heard, since Tanya Tucker. 

I used to have a crush on Maria Carrey, but Emma even sounds better than Maria, and dig this, Emma is only 16. She has done a few cover tunes, I’m trying to convince her to do a cover on the old Dukes theme.

Any mile, if you wondered who that honey is that we been playing all night now you know.

Okay then the Hazzard County AyreWolvez are soaring in droves.

Membership has increased by 60% from this time last year. The Hazzard County AyreWolvez now has a full membership of 10,000 members and growing in strength. And folks here thought the Wolvez were asleep.

I’ll get into more on the show this afternoon and on the late edition of WyldAyre Blog, but I thought I’d let you in , that the ice has broken, and we are gaining altitude.

He’s back

In the words of Q, as he became a imp , going back on the bridge of the Enterprise, cigar in hand with a Mexican mariachi band playing, He’s back. Charlie finally turned up some money so I could get back on line so I’m back online. Now to get busy building the radio station.

Saw on Facebook, that our sister in Gooding is going to be running a car at MVR this summer in a sort of Gen. Lee. Thing is, we are about the only ones in Idaho with a legal copyright clearance to even sport such a thing. Likewise, wasn’t she the one that although nice years ago, and saying she wanted to be a Knyte, got rather pee-owed at me, and said she did not want to be a Knyte? Funny, so many dislike us, but feel the need to copy us, the real joke is on them , since although we may be copied, we’re never duplicated.

Now here’s the nice thing and bad thing that happened today.

Got my money from Charlie, hoofed it over to the bank, then over to cable one. Sign on Cable-One’s door says we take payments. I did out the cash, but woe, they no can take cash payments. Ought to put that on the sign on the door. Kinda like the Internet they say is 50 megs fast. That Cable One does not bait & switch? Really? Internet speed, maybe 20 megs , late at night in good weather, no body or hardly anybody on line. Case two the $33.00 or really $100.00 with tax, really is $320.00 as they bill you for up to three months service in advance. They say common sense. The Common Sense. Sign up for Phone, Internet with someone else, and only sign up for cable TV with Cable one. If enough people do that, Cable-One will stop barking about what they say they do, and tell the truth of what they really do. Don’t ya’ll wish that every business in our area did what A1 and Dixie Toewing does? With honesty.

Any way, need to shuffle off. But Cable One tell the truth or sell the system to ComCast.
