Could it be we go back to the days of Hazzard?

java break hedderhnn news

Got a good comment, about one of my blogs last night. For once it was a good comment critical but nicely done with something constructive, which is what I am looking for in a co-host, someone to be the Devils advocate but do it not in a mean way but one to cause thought.

The whole thing I was getting to in the blog, is that, and perhaps, fantasy like, believe in the old days. Where time was marked by days walking along Hazzard Creek, throwing rocks, floating wooden boats, and eating store candy sitting on the bridge. Fishing at Oster Lakes, and just cruising on a mini bike across the desert of Bell Rapids.

Where one could leave the doors open of your car or truck, keys in the ignition, the doors to your house wide open, and not worry.

Where a gal didn’t have to carry, a tazer in her purse or mace, and feel totally safe anyway. But here’s the twister for me and for those that work at or have worked at a bar, the fact that many, not all, but many cocktail waitress’ flirt and tease, all night to get a fatter tip. Where, on a given event say Christmas Eve, looking like Santa’s Elves, wear skimpy shorts, that leave little to the imagination, yet get mad if you pitch a photo session with a truck or warbird to them. Really?

Then there is both location and area mindsets, that I can’t understand and here’s why.

Shortly after we fired AyreWolf up in Utah, I made a call to a talent agency in Provo, told them who and what I needed and where it was located. Guess what they sent me 20 candidates all at once to the Utah Wolf’s Lair, and had no problems with it. In metro Utah, which includes really big cities with a much bigger ethnic mix, and that agency had no problems with sending me people. Yet here in wanna be big city Twin Falls , the idea of getting even one gal to show up to do liners or voice overs or even sit in on a good session on air is like pulling teeth out of a rooster. As far as being a stranger, hey I dig stranger danger, but hell neither myself nor any member of the club are not alien strangers. We have roots going back eons here. As far as location, even when we did have a formal studio over in Gooding , it took weeks for some gal to walk in to interview, and a few longer weeks to get em on air. So a formal location makes no sense. The thing is its like protecting our kids from food poisons, or getting some influenza. Our bodies have an immune system, the more we over sanitize something the more those immune systems relax and are not as effective.

Uncle Jessie Duke said a stranger is just a friend we ain’t met yet.

Sure there are a lot of whackadoodle nutballs out there, but they’re far and few. But we overdo our defense mechanizms and ignore and avoid people who just might be good for us to engage with. Nobody would be super spooked or careful over sending a kid to some house to take piano lessons, and that same thing is the way we feel about female talent coming to the Wolf’s Lair. In Twin falls wanting to being a bigger city, I think they invite being over cautious.

It depends on how bad somebody wants just a job and career. I know many talent booking agents that work out of their homes, both male and female.

We can’t nor should we put off people just because of first impressions or that, go in make yourself comfortable, keep your wits about you, if something makes the hairs on the back of your neck rise, then get out, but don’t slam the door, just on preconceived ideas or notions.

But can we go back to the Days of Hazzard? Where a date at the soda fountain is just that, where if Julie needs a ride home from church and an older guy offers, that is just that a ride home from Church? Can we have a guy and a gal just be friends without the whole damn town thinking they’re shacking up. Come on. And who cares if some kid in high school has a crush on a teacher, no matter the gender. Its harmless. Hell there were two that I was damn glad and am today that didn’t mind a bit of shall we say exploration, explanation. After all both were teachers. It was Miss Mathers ,that let me find out that her vagina was not her belly button. It was Miss Jensen who showed me that Oriental vaginas did not go sideways as a few friends kidded me about, And it was Miss Egbert who taught me that her feet and toes did not smell, that in fact could be a great opening a nice evening.

I learned from many teachers things that I needed to know. Granted these were lessons and subjects that Dad’s and bigger brothers taught you. But My Dad was on the road trucking, my only Step Brother by my school years was and is still a POW/MIA , so who to teach me? My club friends? Many thought it was entertainment watching me be so street illiterate. I had no sisters and certain questions and subjects you did not bring up in front of Mom. Our Southern Baptist home was just not to think these things. I always figured though, God does not give us these urges unless he wants us to use them. So why not learn? The best thing my Mom did was when I barely turned of age, and even then I was female stupid, took $1,000.00 in cash, gave it to a hired hand at the ranch and had Cal, take me to Miss Donna’s Ranch in Wells Nevada. Even though I barely walked leaving there, I had a whole new understanding of female body parts and how to have fun with them. But up to those points I was completely stupid , on such subjects. Which is why when the radio station came around, we put on Dr. Ruth’s Sexually Speaking, and Sue Rogers Sex With Sue. So that the rest of those out there could get a healthy intelligent understanding of sexual human relations, not the misguided tribble, that one gets from Playboy, or some other cheap inaccurate source.

I’m drifting off course, here.

The simple innocent days of Hazzard, was posting a notice of gals wanted for poster girls at the shop, on the wall of the Polish Palace(now Snake River Grill) in Hazzard. 20 gals minimum would show up of ALL ages, many didn’t even care about being paid they did it for the fun of it. We did many pictorials, Jimmy’s rods, Karl Kuhn’s creations, Alfred Kuhn’s Capri, my General Lee, and LexiBelle when she still looked good, nobody felt threatened.

Sure in Thomas Wolff’s book , “ You Can’t Go Home Again” things are not the same, but can’t we start to reverse and go back to that era, and mindset? If our valley wants to retreat into a past era, lets really do it. Go retro, lets go back to when things were what they were, and not some danger someone conjures up in their mind.

Any mile have Church so gotta go, see ya’ll in the early AM after the radio show.

B4 I go to bed

AyreWolf Knytecide hedder

Before I go to bed I had a few other things I needed to get off my chest.

I got to thinking while I was just trying to nod off about the recent new hire/intern recruitment project.

First , and being a guy I can’t understand this , but I do sort of at the same time.

First, and maybe its just Twin Falls, but it seems all too many here are or have became all to paranoid. In some other time period, this degree of paranoia was only seen in the very large metro areas like Las Vegas or Hollywierd, never Twin Falls. What happen, while I was gone somebody else pull the maybe job in a house to do the wyld thing?

The fact that most if all of what we do is geared more towards the Dukes of Hazzard rather than EasyRiders Magazine images, is why I wonder. In fact I never heard one time by myself or a club member ask a talent to rip her threads off and lets get busy. Not once. Okay true, maybe the toew kiss thing is a bit racy and more forward than some requests at a new job interview, but hey its to audition to do a bit part on a TV ad. So what? It’s not like someone said hey once I kiss your toew I’m going to feel up your leg and stick my finger in the pool. The fact that I also invited all the guys who belonged to these gals to also come to the interview and even an entire family stopped in from the Jackson Hole area , should be an indication we are not looking to be fooling around.

But beyond me, the club and that situation, what happened to Twin Falls? For several years this was the place to do business. Stores opened, although I feel for the old guy that ran a farm out where Target and all those stores are now off of Poleline and Blue Lakes is now. Course this was back when Ace Hansen Chevy was going strong. You’d come into Twin Falls in that area, and you’d see commerce on the east side, and a retention of our farm lifestyle on the west. It was a miracle to be sure, but after that guy passed away the town swooped in like buzzards and took that land. Or like out on South Washington. I can remember the only thing out there to the Airport, was a Circle K, and the Kellwood plant, oh and did I mention, the Kellwood company made nylons for JC Penny’s and Sears. But the rest of that out there was more rural than urban.

I’m not saying I hate to see economic increases and prosperity, hell I welcome it. But did Twin Falls grow too fast for its britches? Or was there another or is there another reason or happening I missed while I was in the service, and away? Hell back then even the gall darn local news rag the Times News was more open to doing news articles on new clubs and things. Not tell em one thing then do another. Same goes for KMVT. That I thought would start to get the idea, that with so many new ways to get news and entertainment now days, that partnering with us would be better than the constant feuding. Oh and yes I tried to throw the olive branch down once, but got it picked up and Chris Prejudice run after me with it. Talk about stuck up.

Maybe its because my roots are here. Hell my 4rth Cousin on my Mom’s side of the family, Dr. VV Telford, was known, loved and honored here. Shyt I’m part of that family, yet I get shunned or nearly that? But because my roots are here I keep trying along with the club, to get this stubborn donkey to move, forward. I want to see Twin Falls, in fact Idaho, get into the 21st century and climb out of this Victorian 18th century mindset that many have retreated to.

Hell, I can remember in the 80’s and 90’s, we had two discos, the Turff Club was going full bloom, CSI was open to new ideas, and Me & Ed’s Pizza was open. Women were a bit more open minded, and not running from the fear of being assaulted? Sure I know it happened then as it does now. Heck I was the victim of two attempted assaults, one just physically and one near sexually, by a mental health professional. Dad clocked the head shrink that stopped that the other was arrested and sued.

Now I’m not saying that I was not past doing a few hijinx as a teen, cruizing around. Driving my VW Diesel Rabbit inside the Blue Lakes Mall when it was running(now Fred Myers) but no one ever got hurt.

Is it because I’ve gotten older that a gal thinking of doing some talent gig of ours is fearful of entering the Wolf’s Lair here? Or what?

Sure I’m a bit bitter for not getting the credit, for things I helped to get started, here, and as well as the eye opening we as a club brought to Twin Falls by blowing this areas horn when we’d go to hot rod, and truck shows. As far as airshows, who do you think planted that seed? Has anyone ever came up to the door here and said here Pat here’s a one time money thing for that idea? Or saying, in repayment for what you and your club did once, seeing your in a bit of a stressful situation, here’s a shop, hangar or such to get you going again and thanks for your military service. Nope, but if I post an ad somewhere needing voice over help, or on camera help especially from women, its oh man, Goldie Locks is going to be ate by that big bad bear.

Any flyte its 04:00 I need to hit the rack, but ya’ll think about this, and if ya’ll want to make a mends, look me up I’m in the phone book.

Is Idaho only going to be known for the famous potato?

I had a moment of partial clarity today that has been boiling inside me for quite some time. The minds ability to suppress anger when the heart, body and soul just wants to kick ass. But I’m digressing here.

Saturday is the day of rest, despite what the popular culture or religious bodies tell you, Saturday is the Sabbath day. Changed only through political pressure in ancient Roman times. So I sat at home, and caught a rebroadcast of the Disney Make Your Mark dance contest on the Disney Channel.

More than 90,000 entries of youth 17 and younger submitted tapes and uplinked videos to Disney to win the coveted prize to be a guest dance troupe on the Disney series Shake It Up. Remember here , HazzardAyre tried to get some of ya’ll involved but most of ya’ll just snubbed your nose at us.

No entries from Idaho. Why?

Then I watched the Mark Zuckerberg story of creating Facebook. Not done in a fancy swanky facility but in the dorm room at Harvard. With little to no start up money, in fact no money, but only a belief he had a great concept.

Of course there are some albeit slight inventions that have came out of Idaho, TV was created in Rigby Idaho. But shy of that its our great tater that gets the gold star, but not or very little of anything else. Again the question is WHY?

I have nothing bad or wrong to say anything against farmers, farming, or the Tater, Hell I eat, I love taters, but is all that there is here? Is that all we as a state population want from our state? Even the Magic Valley? There’s a local talent contest supported by a local church and some civic group, that showcases what local musical and poetic talent there is here. However unless you’re a butt licker of the establishment forget being invited to that party.

There was a , and maybe there will be again a America’s Next Top Model local talent search thing, but it wasn’t created to showcase the local model want to be’s here, it was a big in your face finger from a local TV station to the Knytes that trickled down to us in the Winged Warriors. We forgive as God tells us to do, but we don’t forget. After all God does not forget or side step vengeance nor will we. A subject for another time.

But now lets look beyond what will be and those few things that we passed on due to pressure from the all to often hecklers, that could be today and putting money into Idaho’s revenue pocket.

Long before Ben Jones(aka Cooter) created Cooter’s Place , The , then, Hazzard County Knytes, along with the Montgomery Foundation, had the idea of putting together a Hazzard County/Dukes-of-Hazzard theme park honoring the Dukes. Created on the idea of backdrops of the original township site of Hazzard as seen on TV. The investors were there, the employees were there, the club was there. The there was exactly where that Energy company wanted to put a nuclear power plant. They, like us got turned down by every public official, and agency. Imagine a clean them park dedicated to the Dukes of Hazzard with rides, tours, plays, and theater amongst other things going on there. Imagine the financial and employment growth, that would have been the yield there if a few bigots hadn’t said, naw not here.

By the way two sites in Idaho, and 3 in Utah are under consideration for a retry at that, a Hazzard County memorial museum, and park. One is near Burley, one between Arco and Blackfoot . In Utah, well I’m getting ahead of myself.  At the heart, a place of one in NC, called The Boars Nest,West. More that some other time.

In the 1980’s there was two TV shows that reigned supreme over many others, one of course was the Dukes of Hazzard, the other and here’s where we come in, one called Airwolf. A little rework of words you have HazzardAyre.

But I’m getting off course here into our business.

I use us as a reference and example. While getting employees for a venture before you have it running may be getting the milking machine before the cow, and I am so sorry and fully apologetic to anyone that we might have hurt, but it was a market test to see , just how many ladies and others would get involved in creating a super radio station and satellite/cable TV channel network here in our area. To see just how many were qualified, both technically and talent wise. How many computer techs, web developers, and other creative people, that for little to no money would jump in at first to create the next Disney Land or Facebook, in Idaho.

Sure we asked for folks to come to the house, and yes it might have been better to have started where its going to go anywhere in that studio/office in Buhl, but so too, Mark didn’t have a BIG office or a studio when he created Facebook, or The Facebook, or Facemash either. He did it in his dorm room, and even when going to Palo Alto CA, his hq was a duplex house. Guess Palo Alto women are more open minded. I have facts that back up that claim as well.

A recent Gallop Poll ranks Idaho, as the number 8 top conservative state in the Union. Utah is down at number 15 somewhere.

I met a fellow that looking at creating a record label here in Twin Falls, with a few investors he has a facility, I don’t think he could do it on his own. Somehow he thought that HazzardAyre would be an asset, there a bunch of reasons that wouldn’t work, but any mile, he even admits that he’s sorry he ever came to Idaho.

This outgo instead of an influx of new people coming in with ideas of things other than raising spuds or milking cows , is what will turn our states unemployment and fiscal financial crisis around.

Sure I’ll admit, I live on a mere Social Security check plus whatever I can make out of AyreWolf Aviation and or Dixie Toewing. That is the results, of Montgomery Foundation Trustee’s investing money about $600K into a annuity that went belly up after some people in that annuity got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. If I’m lucky by the time the law suit by the Montgomery Foundation, against Metro Securities of Washington State is over, after the attorneys get done I might see $150k. That’s why I’m here getting what I get. While I should be happy, and just relax , I’m not. There is so much that can be done if the club and I can just get some people to pull their heads out of their ass long enough to see daylight. Forgo the concept of well until I can get a pay check, I ain’t doing anything, why not put in some volunteer time like club members do to make something for the greater good.

Hey I was born in Idaho, I saw what we did in Idaho, for Idaho in the 80’s & 90’s, and I know what Idaho is capable of. Damn it I’m not letting this state founded on Confederate ideas , go in the toilet.

As I want this state to be known for something other than the great Idaho Spud, and unleash the arts and theatrical ability we have here. Set free the technological intelligence that is in Idaho, and for once not have it all pool in Boise, Pocatello or Idaho, Falls, but Twin Falls or Jerome, we can do it too.

It’s Sunday much to do today so I’m in bed, but think about that as you read the blogs and news this Sunday while you scarfe down your oatmeal.

Knyte Prowl

AyreWolf Knytecide hedder

The nyte eases into a new day. Wanted to write earlier , but was on the air on both HazzardAyre and seguead into WyldAyre radio. Which goes to something I have talked about allot . There is the condition that if I have to do everything all by myself, why try to hire anybody? Fact is that’s about where we as a club is doing. As for me, having someone doing at least 12 hours of this gig during the day and second seat or RIO, wouldn’t be bad. Trouble there are few trained or able to jump ship to go onto the air with me, likewise solo. So what do you do? Best you can and that’s what I be doing.

Okay got a gripe to the Depot Grill of Twin Falls. After a hammering of my counselor Friday evening wanting to cruise to the Depot for Friday night fish night, I got there at 20:30 hours, by then the most of the good stuff was gone. So had to scarf down my meal. Unable to finish, couldn’t take it with me. Really? All they’re going to do is flush it anyway, why not let me take it home or in the truck to eat as I wanted. Bad policy, going to see if that rule can be changed for us tow jockies.

Any flyte, see all in the PM, b4 I go on air.
